MEET THE ECNL STAFF

PRESIDENT // Christian Lavers

Christian Lavers is the President and CEO of the ECNL, and was one of the founders of both the girls and boys leagues. Lavers is also the Director of Coaching and Methodology at FC Wisconsin, with experience coaching in youth, collegiate, and professional soccer, and has worked as US Club Soccer’s Executive Vice President overseeing league development, the id2 Program, and other technical areas. Previously, Lavers was a corporate and IP attorney representing both small businesses and Fortune 100 companies. He earned a Business Administration degree in 1998 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was also a member of the men’s soccer team, and received both a Masters of Business Administration and a law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004.

VICE PRESIDENT // Douglas Bracken

Doug Bracken is the Vice President of the ECNL, and was one of the founders of both the girls and boys leagues. Bracken is also the Director of Coaching and one of the founders of Ohio Elite Soccer Academy in Cincinnati, OH. He has over 25 years of experience coaching in youth and collegiate soccer. Bracken played collegiately at Ashland University along with a brief professional career in the USISL.

CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER & GIRLS COMMISSIONER // Jen Winnagle

Jen Winnagle is the Chief Operations Officer, a new role created after serving as the second ECNL Girls Commissioner in league history for nearly six years. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, she was a member of the women’s soccer team. After her collegiate playing career, she went on to coach at the University of Richmond for five seasons. In 2012, she left college coaching and took a position in development and donor relations in the VCU Athletics Department. Jen began her career in the ECNL in 2014 as the league’s first Member Services Manager.

BOYS COMMISSIONER // Jason Kutney

Jason Kutney is the ECNL Boys Commissioner, a position he took in early 2019 with a focus on expanding the League to meet the needs of the nation’s top youth athletes. Previously, Kutney was the Sporting Director and CEO of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, and was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2013 for his involvement in the Highmark Stadium project, after a 9-year professional playing career in the A-League and USL.

BOYS EVENT MANAGER // Annika Martensson

Annika Martensson enters her first season with the ECNL as the Boys Events Manager. She joins the ECNL after completing her Graduate Assistantship with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Athletic Event Management team while earning her Master’s degree in Sport Administration. Annika attended Carleton College for her undergraduate degree, where she played on the women’s soccer team and worked for the Office of Sports Information.

GIRLS EVENT MANAGER // Colscon Wiley

Colscon Wiley enters his first season with the ECNL as the Girls Events Manager. Prior to joining the ECNL, he spent time working in Chicago for the United States Soccer Federation, focusing mainly on the US Open Cup. He attended High Point University in North Carolina, where he played soccer and lacrosse while obtaining a degree in Business Administration and Management.

SELECTION PROGRAM MANAGER // Blayne Fink

Blayne Fink is the ECNL Selection Program Coordinator and recently expanded her role to assist with ECNL Regional League event operations. Before joining the league in November 2019, Blayne worked as an instructor of public speaking in Virginia Tech’s Department of Communication while completing her Master’s degree. Prior to this, she studied multimedia journalism and business leadership at Virginia Tech while competing on the nationally-ranked women’s soccer team.

EVENTS & CONTRACTS MANAGER // Elizabeth Green

Elizabeth Green is the ECNL’s Events and Contracts Manager, joining the league in January 2022. Born and raised in Richmond, VA, Elizabeth graduated from Longwood University in 2018 with a degree in Communication Studies with a focus on Public Relations. Prior to joining the ECNL, Elizabeth served as a Regional Coordinator for a tech company.

EVENTS MANAGER // Mikayla Hampton

Mikayla Hampton enters her first season with the ECNL as an Events Manager. She joins the ECNL after completing her time as a student-athlete at the University of Louisville, where she played on the Women’s Soccer team and pursued her Master’s in Business Administration. Prior to Louisville, she was a student-athlete at Northwestern University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Industrial Product Design. Mikayla is a proud ECNL Alum, who competed for Ohio Elite Soccer Academy from 2007-2017.

DIRECTOR OF MEMBER SERVICES // Kristin Brunner

Kristin Brunner is entering her sixth year with the ECNL and first as the Director of Member Services. Prior to joining the ECNL, Kristin was a high school Social Studies teacher specializing in US/VA Government in Northern Virginia. Kristin attended George Mason University, obtaining her BA in History and Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction while playing for Mason’s women’s soccer team.

MEMBER SERVICES COORDINATOR // Ania Barrick

Ania (Golawska) Barrick is the ECNL Member Services Coordinator, joining the league in July 2021. In May 2020, she received her BS in Kinesiology from Mississippi College, where she competed on the women’s tennis team. As the team captain, Ania was also a part of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, where she was part of the Events Coordination team. Ania came to the United States as an international student-athlete from Gdansk, Poland in the summer of 2016.

MEMBER SERVICES COORDINATOR // Jackson Proffitt

Jackson Proffitt is an ECNL Member Services Coordinator, joining the league in January 2022. Prior to his time with the ECNL, Jackson served as an Assistant Sports Director for Randolph-Macon College, where he also graduated in 2019 with a degree in history.

DIRECTOR OF CREATIVE SERVICES // Andrea Wheeler

Andrea Wheeler joined the ECNL as the Boys Marketing Manager after serving as the Director of Creative Services and Emerging Media at Alabama State University Department of Athletics. Prior to ASU, at Bethune-Cookman University, she assisted in the design and approval for new Athletic Department logos, while leading the creative staff in re-branding campaigns, including a new department-wide theme and visual identity. She also served as the Assistant Sports Information Director at her alma mater North Carolina Central University (2013-15), where she was a softball student-athlete.

COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER // Jacob Born

Jacob Born is the ECNL Communications Manager, joining the league in January 2021. Prior to his position with the ECNL, Jacob worked in the communications and marketing departments for the Iowa Wild (AHL), Philadelphia Union (MLS), Washington Nationals (MLB) and St. Louis Rams (NFL). A native of St. Louis, MO, Jacob attended Marquette University, graduating in 2015 with a degree in journalism and a minor in marketing.

GRAPHIC DESIGN MANAGER // Jaquie Tun

Jaquie Tun is the ECNL Graphic Design Manager, joining the league in March 2021. She received a BFA in Graphic Design from West Virginia University in 2019 and received her Master’s degree in Sport Management from WVU in May 2021. While attending WVU, she competed on the women’s gymnastics team as a student-athlete and she assisted in making social media graphics for WVU Athletics.
